Chicagostan

OMG! Thank god the junior senator from Illinois may get the power to call back all the trrops from Iraq. It really looks like he will need them in his own backyard. If this was the case in Texas or in Arizona where McCain comes from the media would be howling.

LOL.. Like Obama has anything to do with that. I could point to New Orleans, and then say its all Jindal's fault for N.O having the highest murder rate in the U.S., but that is not all his fault either. Its no wonder that crime and murders have gone up with a shaky economy, and out of control gas prices. Where there is extreme poverty there will probably be extreme cases of crime and murder. That's just how the world works... You should know that better than anyone Uncle MIG.

Young Padawan you are correct that it is NOT his fault but my point is that if it were either of those other two states the media would be calling for impeachment or a public flogging. The media is biased. But....show me the correlation of high gas prices and murders. The UK and most of Europe have much higher fuel prices than us and don't have people who prey on each other like we do in our big cities. Then again, they don't have an MTV Banger Culture to worship either. Sociology is a complicated matter that cannot be explained by party poltics or one policy vs another. It is a summation of society. President change every 4 years. Our society has been getting rotten all my adult life and I have seen both Dem and Rep leadership in action. No one seems to have the answer as to why we kill each other. Maybe the human animal is programmed to kill.

^^ Aren't guns illegal in most of Europe? With little to no guns it makes it a lot harder to murder people. When they get mad they just go drink or play soccer! LOL Also, Dallas has the highest "crime" rate of any city in the U.S. right now. Meaning murders, car jackings, robberies...etc I don't know if there is a direct correlation between high gas prices and murders, but I do know there is a correlation between poverty and crime. Bad economy, high gas prices, and jobs being shipped over seas only adds fuel to the fire. I just found out on Friday that the company I work for (don't want to put too much info out there) is shipping all of our manufacturing overseas. This was also the same day that the jobs report came out that said that the jobless rate in the U.S is at a 5 year high.

Every 50 years or so the world goes through an upheaval of ecomomy and power shifting. We are still in the middle of that. It is not the fault of the Repbulican president or the Democratic Congress and House. It is a culmination of many events and timings. Sociology is complicated and finance even more. I know you believe deeply in your candidate and your convictions but being a bit older and seeing more I can tell you emphatically that no matter who is in the White House, Islam still hates us, the dollar will remain soft for at least two more years, One of the big three auto makers will go under in 5 years, beer will still taste good and Rock & Roll is here to stay.
